This song was written March 2, 2011.

This song was definitely inspired by the birth of my son. And by Woody Guthrie.

The melody is simple but it's pleasing to sing because of the rhythm of the phrasing. If you count it out, the chorus is 7 ½ bars long, so it "turns around" in a surprising way. I've always liked to play with adding or subtracting beats in my songs.

When we play this song live Nala does all the sign language for the different things we sing about. I love the sign for "dream."

On the version on "Apple Apple" I couldn't resist using some audio of Montana making his cute baby sounds. Don't worry, I made sure to ask him if he wanted to sing on the album first!
