:: THIS SONG'S STORY ::

(Written November 2012)

I sort of I commissioned myself to write this song. It was winter in the Northwest and I needed a new song for an upcoming show. I wanted something upbeat and in season. Since moving to Seattle in 1997 I have written a growing stack of songs about the rain. So throw this one on the pile.

lyrics

:: LYRICS ::

Raindrops
Won't stop
So let's
Get wet
We'll dry off someday
It's just water anyway

Raindrops on my head
The clouds are full of tiny holes
The world is getting wet
But I'm dry on my umbrella stroll

Raindrops small at first
Warm and wet and falling down
On flowers bent in thirst
Puddles gather on the ground

Raindrops
Won't stop
So let's
Get wet
We'll dry off someday
It's just water anyway

Wearing my rain boots
Raincoat and my rubber pants
I'm almost waterproof
All dressed up for my rain dance

Raindrops
Won't stop
So let's
Get wet
We'll dry off someday
It's just water anyway
