Sing your song - and this whole album - is a prayer of empowerment for young people. The primary message behind this album, and perhaps my whole life, could be summed up in this single couplet from the title song:

You may not sound like everybody else
But you sound just like yourself

In other words, Be yourself because you are beautiful that way. You gotta be you because you're the only one who can sing the song that lives inside your heart. And I also have to accept who I am - to love my freaky, awkward, beautiful self.

I invited one of my favorite singers Renee Stahl (of Renee and Jeremy fame) to sing harmony on this song. Northwest children's musician Johnny Bregar plays bass and Eric Eagle bangs the drums.
